Junior Lacrosse

On Saturday, 16 September Stockport Lacrosse Club welcomed the finest junior lacrosse teams to compete in our September Sixes competition.
With a fast and frenetic day, we welcomed 24 teams from U12s, U14s and U16s on the boys, and U13s and U15s on the girls, teams from Stockport, Heaton Mersey, Timperley, Poynton, Cheadle, Mellor and Sheffield. With the sixes rules/codes becoming more aligned the skill levels where there for all to see. Shot clocks even made a great return to the U15s and U16s competition, making it the spectacle we all wanted to see.
U12s started the days events, producing a high level of skill and competition at such a young age. With an exciting final between Stockport and Mellor, and Stockport managing to take the victory.
U14s were next to get underway, creating a great buzz and another high level of competition. With Cheadle producing a strong display throughout the day to come out victors.
We welcomed the U13 junior girls. The teams were able to spoil the crowd with excellent skills and a very even competition, with Stockport coming out on top.
On to the final couple of tournaments, and the introduction of the shot clocks for both the U15s and U16s adding to the speed of this format. Excellent way to finish a terrific day of competition, providing the trophies to Cheadle (U16s), and Heaton Mersey (U15s) who both produced dominant displays over the course of the competition.
