Q1: 2-2
From the first face off we knew we were in for a battle. Wacs had a strong face off guy who won 75% of face offs throughout the match. Don’t think our boys had realised the threat of the opposition prior to the game. We did come out equal in the quarter however. Some good saves by the WACS goalie, and some strong defending by both teams.
Q2: 0-3 (2-5)
We started to edge the game by keeping our heads, keeping to the rules and not getting over involved in the physical aspect of the game. We kept our players on the pitch and won the quarter.
Q3: 1-4 (3-9)
We played some good lacrosse after the break, keeping possession and choosing our shooting opportunities. Some good assisted goals.
Q4: 1-2 (4-11)
We won the last quarter with two good goals, and were glad to get through a tough physical game without injury.
Some head checking and slashing was getting missed, and this resulted in a tough game to be involved in. It was more of a get away with a win, rather than a show off our skills type of day.
Fourth game into the season with *4 wins *0 loss. Goal difference +32 with only next week’s opponents Poynton ahead with *4 wins +41, so the next Saturday’s game at home should be one to watch.
Face off Win 25%. Shot to shot on goal 69%. Shot to goal 38% due to a good display by the WACS keeper with nine saves. We had stand in keeper Sam Beswick in goal, and he gave us another good performance with two good saves.
